My Thoughts: Tim Lundeen does an excellent job narrating. His voice is smooth and sexy. He even adds a slight southern drawl when narrating things from Nick Thomas' point of view. Lundeen also does a good job of transitioning when narrating the female story line. His narration drew me into the story and kept my attention. This story is about a police detective’s efforts to stop a serial killer. 

Carina Kincaid and Nick Thomas are the main characters, along with the serial killer. I really like Carina. She is a strong woman and doesn't take anything off anyone. As a female detective you know she has her work cut out for her. Nick Thomas is a sexy Sheriff from Montana trying to clear his brother's name. I like that Nick is open minded and views the evidence along with his personal knowledge of his brother. Nick is there to stop a killer even if it happens to be his brother. 

This well written story grabs a hold of you and doesn't let go till the very end. The story was not predictable even thought once I got the profile of the killer I was able to identify him quickly. Though he is so carefully I had to keep listening to see if Carina would catch him. As with all great stories involving a hot Sheriff there's a romance bubbling to the surface.

My Thoughts

We all know young children ask lots of questions and the little boy in this story is not different. This story is a great way to introduce a child to different types of families. This story is told in verse and is really cute. The illustrations are great. The questions the little boys ask are age appropriate and really show what young children are really thinking. I love how the little girl gets right the point and answers each question like she is not bothered by the multiple questions this little boy is asking. Once again I shared this with Jessie. At this time I'm not aware of her knowing anyone who's parents are same-sex. Jessie had lots of questions of her own. I will definetly read more books by Oelschlager.

I want Jacinda to be with Cassian, I'm not too thrilled with Will. When I think about this book not much really happened, they went back to the pride, she feels like an outcast, she runs off a couple times. In an effort to save her Cassian proposes a solution that she can't refuse. I felt anxious and sad the entire time that I was reading this. At one point I felt as if I would cry, not exactly sure why, I guess I was emotionally invested in the characters. Jacinda is confused, I get that she feels like she found the love her of life but the risk she is taking affects more than her life. At times, I felt she was selfish for coming and going exposing her pride to being found by hunters. Then her mother becomes a shell of her former self by drowning herself in alcohol. Basically, Jacinda feels alone.

Jacinda she sets out on a mission to save Cassian's sister, Miriam, and holding on to the hope that her father is still alive. This is the most of what goes on in this book, Jacinda tiptoes around Cassian as she pines for Will. Poor Cassian, that's a love triangle for you. However, at least she is working on patching up things up with her sister Tamra. The beginning was such a surprise and it was a good read.
