But when Precious, pregnant with a second child by her father, meets a determined a highly radical teacher, we follow her on a journey of education and enlightenment ad Precious learns not only how to write about her life, but how to make it her own for the first time.

My thoughts:
Wow. This book took forever to read. It is not a long book, but the content is hard to read along with the grammar, misspelling, and the graphic nature of the book. I had decided to read this book because the movie came out a couple of years ago, and when I heard it was a book I decided to read it. I'm really glad I put it off. I'm more mature now, and it was still hard to read. However, Precious is a character you can't help but love. I was rooting for her all 192 pages, through the ups and downs. Even though the story is really sad I appreciated the ending and enjoyed cheering on Precious Poet Jones.

  2. I had trouble reading this book too. It was very slow compared to the movie... But I did enjoy it at the end...
